Our farm is located in Oregon, on Chehalem Mountain. It is just south of Hillsboro over looking the beautiful Tualatin Valley. Our family has lived and worked on this moutainside for nearly 100 years. We are a family run and operated farm. We understand the desire of purchasing locally and the impact that has on on local economy. The nursery is owned and operated by, me, Krista Olsen-Rahf with great deal of help from my mother, Judy and my husband, Peter.
We love to grow herbs and use them daily. We offer a wide selection of herbs including some herbs that are harder to find (like Green Pepper Basil and Patchouli), but have two herb collections that are unsurpassed, basil and mint. This season will be growing many kinds of basil and 10 kinds of mint. (See our plant list for varieties.) We take great pride in growing beautiful plants with as naturally as possible. To do this we use organic based insecticides and beneficial insects. We also have installed weed barrier clothe in our greenhouses so we no longer need to use controls for weeds.
We love the farmers markets. They allow us a great opportunity to get to know our customers. At the markets we can answer herb growning and herb use questions. Our goal is to make sure that all of our customers understand that most everyone can grow herbs . As well as, that anyone can enjoy the amazing flavor that using fresh can bring whether you have a large garden or just a few pots.
